PRESS RELEASE:
Millions of
Dollars Redirected HepCop
has publicly denounced the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for
spending millions of dollars budgeted for Hepatitis C
(HCV) on other research agendas. |
HCV Grants Allocated for HIV & HIV/HCV Research Projects
The NIH tells congress it's spending money on HCV research. NIH
tells advocates it should be grateful HIV is funding HCV. Millions
of dollars budgeted under the title of HCV research are
awarded to determine such outcomes as, Couples-Based HIV/STI
Prevention for Injecting Drug Users in Kazakhstan ($676,058),
Effects of HIV & Host Genetics in China ($645,840), and Nutritional
Status In HIV Hispanic Drug Abusers ($660,216).
Many of these studies may or may not mention HCV outcomes. But... be
grateful...
