Reason for Letter:
Hepatitis C is a contagious epidemic that has spread at an alarming rate.
This letter will be in addition to the other efforts that already are taking place concerning Hepatitis C;
New Partnership between the Congress and the Surgeon Generals office to communicate with the American People about Hepatitis C
 

Who is at risk

  • Targeted Lookback- Blood banks, hospitals and other institutions are notifying Americans who received blood prior to June 1992
     
  • General education overseen the CDC to recognize other risk factors
     
  • Communication is a critical part of our public health strategy for dealing with the Hepatitis C epidemic.
