Mike, we had a hard time getting all the active duty records from St Louis and finally got a complete set by FOIA the Veterans Affairs in DC. http://www.foia.va.gov/ Despite the FOIA, the chances are slim you will get lab results from the active duty records, so try to remember any time you went for blood work and write a letter requesting copies, undeleted and complete. If you say you're a vet going for disability, chances are they won't charge you for them. These records helped us prove a timeline. But, while waiting for active duty, we got all Gary's medical records since his service. ----Check the labs results for elevated (high) liver enzymes. Here is a link to understand more about lab tests that will help. http://hcvets.com/data/hcv_liver/serologic_tests.htm#Liver Function and this one, Patients' Perspectives What ARE those blood tests? http://hcvets.com/data/hcv_liver/serologictestspatients.htm Most lab results will have H next to the result meaning High or L for Low. Let's see just how far back we can document HCV. ---The hardest part about dealing with the VA is all the waiting you do for them to respond... Patience is a virtue and will be a lesson learned if not already:) You can also get started on an outline to what you do remember about different exposures, who, what, when, where etc.... Like dental or surgical procedures... Hope this helps!
