I'm taking a shot in the dark but here goes: They want to see any disease manifest itself within a window of 1 year to be automatically considered SC. You might not have had any reported hep in service so what you're going to try to prove is that some risk factor you have named(tattoos, Hi-risk sex, transfusion, medic w/ blood contamination,etc.) is the culprit. The "you didn't manifest it" within 1 year is boilerplate denial. Hopefully you have a good nexus to win with. As for AO, there are only 3 diseases you had to have @ 10% or greater within 1 year to get SC- Chloracne, PCT, and subacute peripheral neuropathy. Some of the guys here have AO stuff- I've got PCT. VA can't figure how they're gonna rate it- as secondary to HCV or AO. We live in interesting times. Good luck on the hearing. Read this column well before you put the hand on the Bible and say "I do".
