Read all the stuff we've posted about nexus. The VA knows, assuming you reported it on entry medrecs, that you had the hep @ 16-17. If you were 18 like me and cannon fodder draft # 39, in 1969, that means you're 57. If you had SEA service then your hep may be 1b or 3a genotype or any other one as near as doctors can figure out. There's no rhyme or reason to that. Your buddies, if they had RVN assignments, are entitled to AO benefits. Tell them to see a VSO RFN before they change the rules again. Nobody could type hep in 1965-66 for ABC. If you can get a doc to say 1966 hep is the same hep as the C you have now, you're still not out of the woods. You would have to prove that active service made the 1966 hep worse and provide proof or a doc. to speculate on that. VA will roll over you on that one with examiner nexuses. Get your medrecs from the gov. first! Look thru them. Think back 38 years. Were you sick, jaundiced, hospitalized for anything? STDs: Got any Dx in your records for VD or clap? That is evidence that would give you another risk factor to add to the jet guns and dry/group shaves. Your evidence may be skinny but let the doc know all this. Type it up and have him add it to your records if necessary. Count to 10 first. Think what your saying. It had to happen between 1969- 1973 for it to be SC. Good Luck!
