My original claim for HCV goes back to 1984. I was denied and I let the claim drop without filing an appeal. Advance forward to 2007. I refiled and was awarded SC for the HCV. Now, to my way of thinking its the same HCV I was infected with in 1971. Its not my fault nobody could isolate or identify it as Hep C until 1991. Not being able to identify the virus did not make it go away or make it any easier to live with. The rumor is that nobody gets their claims to go back that far because it would be too costly. I am having trouble accepting that line of reasoning. In your opinion, do I keep up the fight? I am willing and I believe I am able. But, I could use some helpful coaching. Thanks.
